Business visas (E1- E2 – L1)
Visa for trade agreements
This visa can be requested by citizens of countries that have signed trade agreements with the United States and is aimed at those who have to stay for long periods of time in the country and allows them to live and work legally. The interested party can bring his or her spouse and children (under 21 years of age)
– E1 Visa
- Its beneficiaries invested a considerable sum to import foreign products from their country with their company in order to sell in the United States.
– E2 Visa
- It differs from the previous one in that the beneficiary comes to develop a venture or company that will invest a considerable sum. Employees who have knowledge or skills that apply to the company in question can also apply for this visa.
Both visas are usually given for a period of two years and can be renewed without limitation.
Visa for executives
It is a visa designed for employers who are part of a multinational organization and allows them to temporarily hire subsidiaries of the same multinational abroad that are also part of it. This visa can be granted for a maximum of 7 years.
It has two variants: L1A is for managers or executives and L1B is used for workers who have special skills or training that has to do with the company’s objectives.
In both cases, the family members of the executive or employee who obtains the visa can apply for the visa and if they are approved, the visa is extended for the same period as the applicant.
